Some Things Can Wait Until Monday

Some Things Can Wait Until Monday

As the weekend unfolds, here’s a simple reminder I need just as much as anyone:

Some things can wait until Monday.

For me, that looks like this:

  • replying to that email

  • promoting the next blog series

  • building the agenda for my Tuesday morning meeting

  • knocking off a couple things off the to-do list before Monday even begins

  • my office being completely cleaned

  • Purdue football making all the right moves for next season

Those things matter. They’ll get the attention they need.
They just don’t need all of it right now.

The weekend doesn’t require productivity to be meaningful.
Rest isn’t avoidance.
Joy isn’t irresponsible.
Presence isn’t wasting time.

Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is set a few things down long enough to breathe, laugh, notice, and reconnect—with God, with people, and with ourselves.

So if you need permission today, here it is:

Some things can wait until Monday.

Cherish these gifts of rest. Monday has enough worries of its own.

Process.

Process.
